Highsoft Product design & design systems
Designing the chart tools developers trust
My role
As Lead Product Designer at Highsoft, I set the direction across the product suite — shaping UX, UI, and design operations while partnering closely with engineering and product to grow the team’s capacity.
My day-to-day spans planning and prototyping new features, setting quarterly goals with the Tech team, and strengthening the connective tissue between design and code so shipping stays fast without losing craft.
The original promise
Highcharts has powered charts for developers and financial teams for over a decade. The challenge isn’t proving it works — it’s keeping the product opinionated, accessible, and coherent as the surface area grows.
Understanding and refining the product-market fit
Identifying the main target group
We re-mapped the jobs-to-be-done across the core user segments — embedded developers, analysts, enterprise dashboard teams — and sharpened the feature roadmap around what each segment needs most.
The outcome was a clearer design system, faster iteration cycles, and fewer moments where a team had to reinvent a pattern from scratch.
Figuring out what happened
Taking a more natural approach
We ran low-friction research — short diary studies, async interviews, and scroll-throughs with real datasets — so patterns surfaced without turning the program into a research overhead.
